Bridget, on this day when we celebrate your life, which can often be a solemn occasion, that is the last word I associate with you. Determined, excitable, stubborn, inquisitive and generous are more suitable. One of the first memories I have of you is nearly being hit with a door as you stormed out of the Atlantic Fitness Centre, obviously Colin had said the wrong thing 😵💫. Fast forward 2.5 years and as I am walking down the aisle to marry your son Andrew, I glance back to see you hidden behind a column reclining in a green striped deck chair. You were unable to sit in the church pews, as you had thrown your back out a couple of days before. I spent my entire wedding service trying not to laugh every time I glanced sideways and saw you. Thirty years later, in May this year we all came together to celebrate yours and Colin’s 60th wedding anniversary, what a wonderful weekend that we will cherish forever. It has been an absolute joy to have you in my life for the last 30 years and we have many moments that will live on in our memories forever.

Dear beloved Bridget, you have been in our lives for 60 years, up hill and down dale, through thick and thin, and even some sparks along the way!
Through all this time we have been the greatest of friends, with hundreds of wonderful treasured memories, and many laughs and more than a few tears along the way.....
We will miss you so much...
All love, Kate & Tony

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
